« IRAN: MASTERS OF FOREIGN OUTREACH AND DIPLOMACY | Main | The Barghouti Variable » Barghouti Gives an Interview
By Micah Halpern
Thursday November 26, 2009 I've Been Thinking: Marwan Barghouti, the terrorist cum Palestinian leader now serving time in an Israeli prison, is expected to be released in a prison exchange for Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier kidnapped by Hamas. Barghouti gave an interview to an Italian news agency yesterday and declared that kidnapping Israeli soldiers is an important tool in getting Israel to take you seriously. Barghouti is a very shrewd and capable leader. However, despite the fears of many Israelis and the hopes of many Palestinians it is not clear that Barghouti will actually be on the exchange list. What is clear is that Barghouti is still a major player in the Palestinian world. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click. 25 May 2011 07:05 PM in Thoughts
